Questions people ask

What is Form 5472?

An IRS information return that reports the money that moved between your US LLC and you as its foreign owner. It is a report, not a tax payment.

My LLC had no income. Do I still need to file?

Yes. The requirement does not depend on income. If you are a non-US person who owns a single-member US LLC, you file every year.

What is a reportable transaction?

Any money or property between you and your LLC: money you put in, money you took out, payments, loans, and expenses you paid for the LLC.

I missed past years. What should I do?

File the missing years as soon as possible. The IRS may reduce penalties when you correct the problem yourself and can show a good reason. We can file each missing year.

Does this mean I owe US tax?

Usually not. Most non-resident owners with no US-source income owe no US income tax. This filing is about reporting, not paying.

Do I need an ITIN to file?

No. Form 5472 is filed under your LLC's EIN.

When is Form 5472 due for 2026?

For a calendar-year LLC, the 2026 Form 5472 and pro forma Form 1120 are due April 15, 2027. Filing Form 7004 before then moves the deadline to October 15, 2027.

What is the penalty for a late Form 5472?

$25,000 per form, per tax year. If the IRS sends a notice and the form is still not filed 90 days later, it can add $25,000 for each further 30 days. Filing late is still far better than not filing.

How long does your Form 5472 filing service take?

Once we have your numbers, we prepare and check the forms in 3–5 business days and file the same day you approve them.

I need to file several years. How does pricing work?

Each tax year is a separate Form 1120 + Form 5472 filing at the same price per year. Tell us which years are missing and we plan them with you, oldest first.
