An ITIN is a US tax number for people who cannot get an SSN. We prepare your W-7 and an IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent verifies your identity, so you never mail your original documents to the IRS.
The IRS gives an ITIN only for a reason it accepts on Form W-7. Owning a US LLC, or a platform asking for a number, is not enough on its own.
Example: you have US-source income and need to file Form 1040-NR.
Example: a US company pays you and withholds tax, or you claim a tax treaty rate on a W-8BEN (an IRS exception).
Example: a bank or platform asks for a personal US tax number. Ask us first: we check whether one of the IRS reasons applies to you before you pay.
Example: you got an ITIN years ago but did not use it on a US federal tax return for 3 years in a row. It expires, and you renew it with a new Form W-7.

Apply for my ITINAn EIN is your company's tax number. An ITIN is a personal tax number for you. Your LLC gets its EIN without an ITIN.
No. A Certifying Acceptance Agent verifies your identity document for the IRS, so the original stays with you. The agent may ask to see it on a short video call.
About 7 weeks after submission, and 9–11 weeks from abroad or during tax season. The IRS sets the pace.
Yes. The ITIN is made for people who cannot get a Social Security Number, and most applicants live abroad.
Many US banks and platforms accept an ITIN as your personal tax number once you have one. Each one has its own rules.
Not always. Owning an LLC alone is not a reason the IRS accepts. You need one when you have a US tax return to file, or when an IRS exception applies, such as tax withheld by a US payer.
Usually not to open the account: your LLC uses its EIN, and you verify yourself with your own ID. Some platforms ask the owner for a personal US tax number later, for example as sales grow. If that happens, we check whether you qualify for an ITIN before you apply.
A valid passport is enough on its own to prove both identity and foreign status. You also need the reason for the ITIN: usually a US tax return that goes with the W-7, or the documents for an IRS exception.
With a new Form W-7 marked as a renewal, together with the US tax return you need it for. We prepare renewals the same way as new applications.
Yes, most often because the reason is not one the IRS accepts or a document is missing. That is why we check your reason with you before you pay and prepare the W-7 with you.
Fill in the form and upload a scan of your ID. We handle the W-7 and the IRS.
