The basics
What is LLC Station?
A US company formation service for people who live outside the United States. We form your LLC, get your EIN, provide a US address and registered agent, help with your bank application, and file your yearly IRS forms. LLC Station is run by a company registered in New Mexico (Business ID 0008020061).
Can I form a US LLC if I am not a US resident?
Yes. Anyone 18 or older can own a US LLC, whatever their nationality. You do not need an SSN, a visa or a trip to the US.
What do you need from me?
Your full name, your home address (where you live and have active residency), 2 or 3 company name ideas, what the company does in one line, and the owners and their shares if you have partners. The order form shows an example for every field.
Is LLC Station a law firm?
No. We are a business filing service. We do not give legal or tax advice; for advice about your own situation, talk to a licensed professional.
Forming your LLC
Which state should I choose?
Most of our clients choose New Mexico: it is the cheapest to keep, with no annual state report, and the owners' names do not appear in the public record. Wyoming costs a little more each year but is well known and also private. We can form in other states on request; ask us on WhatsApp for a price.
How long does formation take?
The state usually approves your LLC within 5–7 business days after we file. You see every step in your dashboard.
What documents do I receive?
Your Articles of Organization filed by the state. With Business Builder and Diamond you also get your EIN letter from the IRS, and Diamond includes an Operating Agreement. Everything is in your dashboard as PDF files.
What if my company name is taken?
We tell you right away and you choose another name from your dashboard. That is why we ask for 2 or 3 name ideas.
Do I get an Operating Agreement?
It is included in the Diamond package. With other packages, or for an LLC formed elsewhere, you can order it on its own. See Operating Agreement.
EIN and ITIN
What is an EIN and do I need one?
The EIN is your company's US tax number. Banks, Stripe, PayPal and US clients ask for it. It is included in Business Builder and Diamond, and available on its own for LLCs formed elsewhere.
Can I get an EIN without an SSN?
Yes. Your LLC gets its EIN without an SSN or an ITIN. Non-residents cannot use the IRS online form, so we prepare and send the application for you.
How long does the EIN take?
Usually 5–10 business days after we submit the application. The IRS sets the pace, so it can take longer at busy times.
Do I need an ITIN?
Not always. An ITIN is a personal tax number, and the IRS gives it only for accepted reasons, such as a US tax return to file. Owning an LLC is not enough on its own. See ITIN application.
Banking and payments
Can I open a US bank account as a non-resident?
Many non-residents do, with online banks such as Mercury or Wise, using their LLC and EIN. Business Builder includes step-by-step help with the application and a business debit card (Visa or Mastercard) from your US bank. The bank makes the final decision.
Do you help with Stripe?
Yes. In the Diamond package we set up your Stripe account with you, so the answers match your company and documents. Stripe makes the final decision.
What if a bank or Stripe refuses me?
It happens sometimes, and it is their decision. We help you understand why and what to try next. A refusal is not a reason for a refund; see our Refund Policy.
Can I use your US address for my bank?
Every formation package includes a real US business address with mail scanning. If a bank or platform asks for stronger proof of address, you can add a US office lease agreement.
Registered agent, address and phone
What is a registered agent?
An address in your LLC's state that receives official and legal letters for the company. Every LLC must have one. The first year is included in all our packages.
What does the registered agent cost after the first year?
$129 per year, or $269 per year for Diamond (registered agent, US phone number, the yearly tax return Form 1120 + 5472 and priority support). Wyoming companies renew at $229 ($369 for Diamond), which also covers the Wyoming annual report and its state fee. Auto-renewal is on by default for card payments, and you can turn it off in your dashboard.
How does mail scanning work?
Letters sent to your company's US address are scanned and uploaded to your dashboard. Official letters to your registered agent are uploaded the same day they arrive.
Can I get a US phone number?
Yes, for $99 per year, and it is included in Diamond. It receives verification codes, texts and voicemail in your dashboard and email. See US phone number.
Prices and payment
How much does it cost?
LLC Starter from $249, Business Builder from $349, Diamond $499, paid once. The state fee and the first year of registered agent are included. New Mexico and Wyoming prices are on the formation page.
Are there yearly costs?
Yes, the registered agent after the first year (see above). Wyoming also has a small yearly state fee; New Mexico has none. Your LLC may also need the yearly IRS filing (Form 1120 and 5472), which we offer for $99.
How can I pay?
By card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe, or in USDT cryptocurrency through NOWPayments. Crypto payments are final and cannot be refunded to the wallet.
Can I get a refund?
Only if no work has started on your order, and you should ask within 24 hours of paying. Once we prepare or submit anything, the order is non-refundable. The full rules are in our Refund Policy.
After your LLC is formed
Where do I find my documents?
In your client dashboard at orders.llcstation.com. We email you every time a new document is ready.
Do I have to file anything every year?
Most foreign-owned single-member LLCs must file Form 1120 with Form 5472 with the IRS every year, even with no income, by April 15. We can file it for you: see tax filing.
What is a BOI report?
A report to FinCEN about who owns a company. The rules have changed in recent years; ask us whether it applies to your LLC. We can file it for you if it does.
Can you make my documents valid in my country?
Yes, with an apostille. See apostille.
